High-pressure hydraulic flanges from Parker Ermeto – ISO 6162/SAE J518 and ISO 6164
Parker Ermeto's flange programme is developed for leak-free connections in demanding hydraulic applications. At Hymatik you will find a complete range of standard and special flanges, adapters and accessories.
- Standards: ISO 6162-1 (Light), ISO 6162-2 (Heavy) – equivalent to SAE J518; ISO 6164/CETOP
- Sizes: Flange assemblies from 1/2” to 5”; tube O.D. 12–140 mm
- Pressure: Up to 420 bar (6000 PSI) depending on standard and size
- Materials: Steel (zinc-nickel ToughShield Plus) and stainless steel
- Geometries: 3-bolt and 4-bolt square flanges, straight/angled/90° versions, blind flanges, split flange kits, complete flange adapters
What is a high-pressure hydraulic flange?
A high-pressure hydraulic flange is a mechanical connection system for tubes, hoses and components in hydraulic circuits. Flanges are used when:
- the pressure level is high
- the dimensions are large (particularly O.D. > 140 mm)
- the installation space is limited and a compact solution is required
Typical industries: mobile machinery, industrial hydraulics, press and steel industry, offshore/energy, plastics and casting plants.
Standards
ISO 6162-1/-2 (SAE J518)
- ISO 6162-1 (Light): For moderately high pressures in smaller/larger nominal sizes
- ISO 6162-2 (Heavy): For higher pressures and/or larger dimensions
- SAE J518: American equivalent; dimensions and bolt hole pattern match ISO 6162
ISO 6164/CETOP
- Square flange with 4-bolt pattern; often used on blocks/manifolds
- Suitable for very high loads and rigid installations
Product range at Hymatik
- Square flanges: 3-bolt and 4-bolt
- Split flange kits: Halves, bolts and O-ring (complete sets)
- Flange adapters: Straight, angled, 90°, tees, transitions between standards
- Blind flanges and weld flanges
- O-rings and bolt sets in the correct grade
- Special fittings and customer-specific flanges (shape, geometry, jump sizes, >4-bolt solutions)

Stainless steel
- For aggressive environments, offshore and the process industry
- Combine with suitable O-ring materials according to medium and temperature
Specifications
- Pressure: Up to 420 bar (6000 PSI) depending on standard/size
- Temperature range: Depends on choice of material and O-ring; select materials according to medium/temperature
- Tube dimensions: O.D. 12–140 mm; flange assemblies 1/2”–5”
- Threads: All common ISO standards
Benefits of Ermeto flange solutions
- High safety and leak-free performance under high pressure
- Compact design for installation in confined spaces
- Wide range and global standards for easy replacement
- Fast service and availability through Hymatik
Ermeto is also known for other product ranges, including the EO-2 fitting series. With 25 years behind it, the series is ideal for connections between tubes and components in hydraulic systems.

FAQ about high-pressure hydraulic flanges
What is the difference between ISO 6162-1 and ISO 6162-2? ISO 6162-1 (Light) is used at moderate to high pressures; ISO 6162-2 (Heavy) for the highest pressures/sizes. Bolt patterns and thicknesses vary.
Is ISO 6162 the same as SAE J518? Yes, ISO 6162 is the international standard corresponding to SAE J518. The dimensions are compatible.
When should I choose ISO 6164? When you have square flange connections on blocks/manifolds or very rigid installations with high loads.
Which material should I choose – steel or stainless? Steel (with ToughShield Plus) covers most industries. Choose stainless in aggressive or offshore environments.
How do I avoid leaks? Use new O-rings, clean the mating surfaces, tighten in a cross pattern to the correct torque, and re-tighten if needed.
Do you supply special flanges? Yes. We develop customer-specific solutions with special geometries, materials and sizes.
Can I buy directly online? Yes. See the entire range and order in Hymatik's webshop. We deliver internationally and offer fast delivery from a large stock.
