Hymatik looks back on the 2022 calendar year

2022 has come to an end, and we have therefore chosen to look back on the calendar year that has passed. The past year has been filled with successes and challenges that together have shaped the period and will make 2022 a year to remember in Hymatik's history.
New faces and skills at Hymatik
At Hymatik, we have expanded our staff with three new faces over the course of the year. Back in June, we were able to welcome Jørgen Sørensen, who for some will be a familiar face from Dunlop Hiflex's now closed branch in Odense. In his position as sales engineer, he has had ample opportunity to put his extensive expertise and practical experience with hoses and fittings to good use.
About a month later, we were able to welcome Maiken Lissner to the team. With 8 years of experience in sales and project management, she has been well equipped to make the most of her skills and contribute input to our current processes.
And at the end of the year, we were also able to welcome Kathrine Hauchrog. She has been permanently employed and, with her broad expertise in marketing, communication and graphic design, will put her stamp on an entirely new marketing position at Hymatik.
For a digital company of our size, employee development is essential. Our experience tells us that the generalist with personal drive creates far greater value than the specialist (read our full case story from Rambøll in October here).
That is not to say that our employees do not have core competencies within Motion and Control Technologies. With us, there is in fact ample opportunity to expand your area of expertise – here our duo Jesper and Jesper can be mentioned. Jesper Haas is Hymatik's own expert in high-pressure Autoclave fittings and other instrumentation fittings, while Jesper Beiskjær knows pneumatics from A to Z, making the world of air his key competency.
Knowledge sharing and sparring among our employees is essential for their individual development across the desks.
The ups and downs of the year
For many, 2022 has meant sky-high inflation and a degree of uncertainty about the future. At Hymatik, we have fortunately not felt the inflation significantly, but it naturally remains a possible threat in the future. The reason for this is our breadth of products as well as customers, which spreads the risk across the right industries. The situation with price increases does not benefit our business either, and we therefore continue to try to keep price increases from our suppliers to a minimum. During the year, we have experienced shortages of everything from raw materials to components, which has subsequently had negative consequences for delivery times from our suppliers to us and therefore also from us to our customers.
At Parker's Distribution Conference 2022, with 60 participating distributors, we managed to make ourselves noticed with our visions for the digital business and growth of 30% over the year. Such growth has been possible thanks to Parker's product improvements during the year as well as growing customer demand for Parker's products. At the conference in Oslo, we received the award for Growth of the year “for great commitment and excellent results during FY22”.
Such a success cannot be achieved without our dedicated and skilled employees, so the award is first and foremost credited to the team at Hymatik.
As Denmark's largest and Funen's only ParkerStore, it has been important to us to have the components in demand in stock and to be the stockist for businesses on Funen. Our delivery system ensures lightning-fast delivery so that our customers can avoid lengthy and costly production stoppages. This is necessary to safeguard operations on Funen, as several of our competitors chose to centralise outside Funen in 2022. With us, our customers can buy all their components in one place – locally!
An active commitment to digitalisation comes with obligations
Since 2018, we have been working on digitalising our business, which saw us launch a new website with an accompanying webshop. The website has succeeded in converting many of our manual workflows into efficient digital processes. In 2023, we will continue to focus on digitalising our business because digitalisation comes with obligations! During 2022, we have managed to achieve an average of 8,000 visitors a month on our website, so we can clearly see that our work is bearing fruit in the long run.
Management's expectations for 2023 are that we will continue to develop our stock for our new customers and allow for delivery fluctuations from our suppliers. In addition, we will continue to work on our breadth of customers and products so that customers never make a wasted trip to Hymatik. With us, it should be possible to buy your components in one place. We prioritise high quality and long service life for our products – and that contributes more to a sustainable transition than you might think.
