Velcon

Velcon (today Parker Velcon) is a specialised manufacturer of filtration solutions developed to ensure clean, dry fuel — particularly in applications where even small amounts of water or particles can cause downtime.

Background and affiliation

Velcon was founded in 1953 by two engineers with experience from the fibreglass industry. In 2012 the company was acquired by Parker Hannifin and today forms part of the Parker Velcon Filtration Division.

What is Parker Velcon used for?

Parker Velcon is best known for aviation fuel filtration solutions, including coalescer and separator filters that remove free water, emulsified water and particles from the fuel. The purpose is to reduce the risk of:

  • Clogged nozzles and filter housings.
  • Corrosion and microbial growth in tank systems.
  • Downtime and quality deviations in operation.

Typical markets and requirements

Velcon's solutions are typically used in aviation, defence and mining, where documented requirements for quality and standards are often applied (e.g. EI/JIG, depending on the installation and fuel type).

If you need to select the right filter type or sizing for your system, technical sparring and documentation can be decisive for both operational reliability and service life.
